Introduction

Although the Ultra Experience looks very different, the updated interface is actually streamlined and simplified with a modern look and feel. Everything is responsive so you can access your course on whatever device you’d like to use — desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone.

The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is preparing to transition all schools—including the School of Social Work—to Blackboard Ultra by the end of 2026.
The SSW will convert all courses to Ultra before Fall semester 2026.  All Fall 2026 courses will be in Ultra.

In this course, you will be enrolled as a student to view the student experience of using Blackboard Ultra. Not only does the course step you through the various components of Blackboard Ultra, it gives you an opportunity to submit a discussion board response and assignment as well as a test to see how the entire system works.

We urge all teaching faculty to complete the activities and content to earn the Achievements for completing this course.
